==== FILE ====
New cleans up only the current page.
Open opens Note files.
Open Special... opens MacPaint, PICT, and TEXT documents.
Print Options
Page Preview preview of printed page and Notebook page. click
mouse button to exit.
Print... make sure you specify a page range.
Quick Quit only checks to see if current page needs to be
updated. (Command-Option-Q)
==== EDIT ====
Undo not available for text.
Paste shift-key forces use of current selection rect.
Show Clipboard click anywhere to exit.
==== SPECIAL ====
Cycle Pages click at anytime to stop the cycling.
Auto Cycle continuously runs through all the pages until the
mouse button is clicked.
Effects see below.
Text Visible to see what text will look like without its border
when printed, make the text invisible, choose
Select All, Cut, then Paste.
Set Brush Size same as double clicking on brush tool icon.
Overview same as double clicking on hand tool icon.
==== EFFECTS ====
Flip Vertical sort of fast (works only on rect. selections)
Flip Horizontal definitely slow (works only on rect. selections)
Mag. Selection must make a selection smaller than the window.
Shrink Page shrinks the page to the size of the current
selection.
==== TEXT ====
Align... aligns the whole block of text.
Erase Under... check this to erase graphics under text block.
==== SIZE ====
Other... use this to specify a font size other than those
listed.
==== COLOR ====
Colors work with printing on a color printer, and viewing on a
color MacII.
Black may not be checked, but is obvious default.
White all macs can use this for white text on a black
background.
Other Color... only available on the MacII.
==== PATTERNS ====
The current pattern is the one in the upper-left corner that is
twice the size of the other squares.
==== THE WINDOW... ===============================================
If you need room to work on the desktop, simple shrink the
window by using the hand tool and clicking where a windows grow
icon normally would be. The window cannot be grown beyond the
size it was initially set to when Notebook is launched.
If MultiFinder is running, clicking in the zoom-box shows the
disks and trash icons.
==== TOOLS... ====================================================
Text you are limited to ten text objects per page.
double-click expands the current text object
to the size of the window.
Pencil draws black on white and white on black.
Hand for moving selected graphics and for selecting,
moving, and expanding the text objects.
double-click for overview mode.
Selector double-click to select whole screen. If it
doesn't work, click once in the screen and
then try again.
Paint Bucket for one pixel width items, try filling on a
horizontal line.
Lasso doesn't shrink to the size of the object selected.
Brush double-click to change size. Control-key OR's the
the brush pattern. (brush tool only)
Shift-key gets you the pen tool.
Command-Shift gets you the round pen tool.
(experiment with the control-key)

Eraser double-click erases window
For the following tools...
Command Key = makes frames the current pattern.
Shift Key = uses the brush size for frame widths.
Rectangle, Round Rectangle, Oval, Arc, Free Form, Polygon.
Free Form if the object gets too big a system error will
occur.
Polygon if the object gets too big a system error will
occur. To use... click somewhere, the cursor
changes to an arrow, click where to want and a
line forms between the two points. To finish
click where you started and the cursor will
change back to the cross.
==== SPECIAL KEYS... =============================================
` the key with the tilde (~) also. Can be used instead
of Undo when no text objects are selected.
caps-lock use this instead of holding down the shift-key.
arrows if a text object is selected, they move the insertion
point.
